Rediscover the Sahara.

Abdeljalil Sallami

I was born in Morocco and grew up bilingual in Arabic and French. Later, Spanish and English followed, and I learned German after graduating from high school.

After school, I was drawn to Europe – with an Interrail ticket I travelled across the continent, lived, studied, and worked in Paris, southern France, and Costa Brava, before finding my second home on the Canary Islands 30 years ago – close to Africa and yet in Europe.

Sustainable, resource-friendly tourism is my passion. With SaharaVentura, I invite travellers to experience Morocco in an authentic way – in sustainable, beautiful accommodations, on trails through the desert and along the Atlantic coast, far away from mass tourism.

Petra Thaller

Mountains have always been my thing – whether in summer or winter, on easy or challenging tours. When I flew over the desert for the first time on my way to Kathmandu in 1999, the endless vastness, the silence, and the tranquillity immediately captivated me.

Today, I live between Fuerteventura, Munich, and Morocco. With Outdoor Against Cancer, I lead an internationally active NGO, but Morocco has become a permanent part of my life. The southern part in particular has deeply touched me – a region full of beauty, far from the well-known paths.

With Step into Change, we invite people to discover Dakhla and its region consciously and sustainably – off the beaten track, in harmony with nature. My experience with Outdoor Against Cancer flows into SaharaVentura – a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and mindfulness are also at the heart of SaharaVentura.
